Cowhide inspired felted wool slippers
Handmade felted wool slippers. Cowhide inspired look, ethical, custom, slow-home comfort.
These felted wool slippers are handmade by me in my studio in Southeast London, using just raw wool, warm water, and organic olive soap. The design is inspired by natural cowhide, those earthy, irregular patterns, reimagined in felted wool for a minimal, textural feel.
I work with high quality mountain wool, sourced from traditional farms in the Austrian Alps. It’s strong, breathable, and has a natural texture that gently stimulates your feet. With time and wear, the wool adapts to your feet, creating a perfect fit.
The soles are coated with a thick layer of natural latex to help prevent slipping. They’re lightweight, flexible, and completely quiet—perfect for slow mornings or peaceful evenings at home.
Natural materials, honest feel.
Wool isn’t fluffy, its firm, breathable, and temperature-regulating. It keeps your feet warm in winter, cool in summer, and stays fresh longer than synthetic fibbers. These slippers are made only from wool and natural latex, which means they’re fully biodegradable and kind to the planet.
Made slowly, made to last.
At studio stale, I use traditional felting methods to make things that are useful, beautiful, and built to last. No machines, no shortcuts, just simple materials, shaped slowly by hand.
Custom orders.
Each pair is made to order and usually takes 1–2 weeks. During winter, it can take up to 3 weeks. If your feet are tricky to size, I can make a custom pair, just send a drawing with your measurements and I’ll guide you through it.
